about
I'm Jennifer Gillooly Cahoon, owner and operator of HeARTspot Art Center and Gallery.
I opened HeARTspot in 2017 after serving as a public educator for nearly 20 years. I served as a special education teacher, an art teacher, and finally as an Art Department Chair.
I'm a professional working artist (see my work here) who is currently living the dream of working with and helping others through visual art.
Here at HeARTspot, I show people that they don't need to have "natural ability" to enjoy the benefits of creating. I also offer a number of classes for artists looking to improve their current skills taught by myself and a large number of talented artist educators. I support artists through my gallery, my gift shop, and by coaching them in the art of the business side of this profession. I also enrich my community by providing an arts based business with a large number of regular free events.
In addition to enriching the lives of students, I get to help artists go from "starving" to "thriving", learn new skills, partner with local agencies to assist special populations, and provide free classes for children in need.
Get in touch if you'd like to come in to see the gallery, take a class, attend a gallery opening, or teach a class of your own!
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”
